Gangtok is a land of sikkim state in the region of Eas Sikkim. There are many more places for tourist to cover specially for Indian and Foreigners. The main tourist attrreaction points are Tshangu lake , Baba mandir , Yumthang flower valley which is often called the mini Switzerland of India. April, May. June, September, October and December are the best time to visit Sikkim and its entire region.
Day 1: Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – Darjeeling, about 88km about 3 hours of journey
Arrive at IXB or NJP where the concerned representatives will receive you. Then transfer to Darjeeling which is about 2134 m. Check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Have a wonderful stay during night in the hotel.
Day 2: Darjeeling which is a Full day local sight seeing
Start the day early morning about 4 am and drive to Tiger Hill which is 2590m to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga that is the world’s third highest peak. On the way back the Ghoom Monastry and Batasia Loop can be visited. After breakfast a tour to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park which is generally closed on Thursday also a visit to Chitrey Tea Garden an outer view, Tenzing Rock, Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Visit to Chowrasta and Mall Road would be to have a stroll in the evening time.
Day 3: Darjeeling to Gangtok about 4 Hours of Drive and 110 KM away
Immediately after breakfast move to Gangtok. Enroute stop at Lopchu for tea and also you get to see many Lovers. Meet View Point to see the breath taking confluence of the River Teesta and River Rangit. Then check in at the hotel at Gangtok. Have a stroll at MG Marg and stay overnight.
Day 4: Gangtok a full day local sight seeing
After having breakfast proceed for a full day Gangtok town tour that includes Bakthang Waterfalls, Directorate of Handicraft, Ganesh Tok, Tashi view point Enchey Monastry and Handloom, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Flower Show, Institute of Tibetology, Ropeway and Banjhakri Falls. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 5: Gangtok, Tsomgo Lake Excursion
Start for Tsomgo Lake at 8am early in the morning which is 12,400 feet height 3750 m away and around 3 hours of drive. You can also visit Baba Harbhajan Mandir which is at 13,200 feet and 4000 m away. Locals consider the Tsomgo Lake as a sacred lake. Return to Gangtok after the visit by evening and stay overnight at the hotel.
Morning departure Transfer to IXB/NJP ( 136kms/5hrs). Tour End.
Day 01 : Siliguri/Bagdogra to Gangtok (135 km. / approx 4.30 hrs):
On arrival at Bagdogra airport or Siliguri (NJP) railway station meet our representative, who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok (5500 Ft /1677 Mts, 130 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs) & give you briefing about your tour .After leaving Siliguri we drive along the NH 31A through the dense forests Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary, the natural play ground of wild elephant, tiger and deer. Sevok comes next with its promises for the gorgeous view of Tista river as it comes out from the deep gorge of the Himalayas and spreads itself in the vast plains on North Bengal. From Tista Bazaar follows the winding roads and a picturesque drive through Himalayan hills to Gangtok , the capital of Sikkim. Check into hotel and get refreshed for a free leisure evening. Recommend to roam in MG road around the Mall to enjoy the typical Hill City life of Gangtok and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in hotel.
Day 02 : Gangtok Sightseeing :
After our breakfast we will proceed for local sightseeing in or around Gangtok including Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok. These viewpoints offering panoramic view of snow capped Himalayan peaks & Gangtok city. Proceed to visit Rumtek Monastery/ Jhakri Falls , Institute of Tibetology to have a glance of Tibetan antics, Orchid House ( Collection of Himalayan orchids), Enchay Monastery ,Dodurl Chorten etc. In the evening visit to M G Marg, the busy market of Gangtok, for shopping and having Sikkimese delicacy at the local restaurant.
Day 03 : Excursion Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir :
After breakfast drive for a memorable excursion tour to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft. /39 km), one of the highest altitudes Himalayan Lake. This beautiful oval shape lake almost 1 km long with its average depth 50 ft is situated in east Sikkim Himalaya. From here we will drive further 15 km to Baba Mandir. One can further drive to Nathula pass (12,000ft.) towards china border depending upon the accessibility of the route. We will back to Gangtok by late afternoon. Evening is free for roaming around M.G Marg, the popular Shopping area in Gangtok.
Day 04: Gangtok to Lachen (120 kms./5 hrs./ Alt.- 8,500 ft.) :
After an early breakfast we will proceed to Lachen. The route meanders through small villages with valleys upto forest grove of Kabi Langchuk. Shinghik comes next with its promises of one of the most glorious views of Kunchanjungha. Situated at an altitude of over 4000ft Singhik offers a desired break to the travelers on the way to Lachen . We will have our lunch on the way. Visit Chungthang- the confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachun Chu (river) and Vimnala falls water falls on your way to Lachen. Reach Lachung in the late afternoon. Lachen is also a base for the popular Green Lake trek.
Day 05: Excursion Gurudongmar. Lachen to Lachung (50 km/ 2 hrs) :
Early morning drive to Thangu Village (4100m / 13450ft), a remote high altitude village of Tibetan Nomads and also proceed further to Chopta Valley (4000m / 13124ft) to get some breath taking view of alpine valley of frozen rivers. From Chopta Valley drive for another 30kms in 1.5hr to Gurudongmar Lake (5225m / 17143ft) close to Tibet Border, the one of the highest and biggest fresh water lakes in Sikkim and back to Lachen for a late lunch.
Check out from Lachen and drive further to Lachung via Chungthang. En route visit Chungthang confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachun Chu and Vimnala Water Falls. Check in at hotel. Check in at hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.
Lachung – Another remote high altitude village of Tibetan and Bhutia people in North Sikkim with towering rocky snow peaks, vibrant rhododendron valley, lush green yak pastures, perennial waterfalls, hot springs and the base for exploring alpine valley of Yumthang and Yumesamdong close to the Tibetan plateau.
Day 06 : Excursion to Yumthang – Gangtok (24 km./ Alt.- 11,800ft.) :
Early morning drive to Yumthang Valley, an alpine flower valley in North Sikkim. Enjoy the scenic landscape and hot Spring and drive further for 30kms to Yumesamdong (4725m / 15503ft) or Zero Point close to Tibet Border, one of the highest motorable roads in SikkimFull day excursion to Yumthang Valley. The valley is covered with snow during January to March & with rhododendrons during April & May. Enroute visit Sulphur Hot Spring having medicinal values. Lunch at hotel in Lachung. After lunch visit Handicraft Centre & Lachung Monastery. Later drive back to Gangtok, In the evening arrive at Gangtok and check into the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 07: Gangtok to Siliguri/Bagdogra (135 km. / 4.30 hrs.) :
After breakfast drive back to Siliguri (NJP)/ Bagdogra (IXB) via same route for your onward journey with happy memories to cherish .
Day 1: Railway Station / Airport transfer Gangtok
On arrival at Railway Station / Airport you will be received by our office representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok. Upon arrival proceed for check-in at hotel. The evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 2: Transfer to Namchi
Solophok Chardham: An 87 feet long statue of Lord Shiva encircled by a replica of the 12 Jyotirlingas (devotional object representing the god Shiva) and four Dhams (names of four pilgrimage sites in India). Solophok Chardham is one of the most sacred places in Sikkim. Solophok Chardham temple is spread over an area of 7 acres and its complex includes various other religious sites like Sai Baba Temple, Kirateshwar statue besides Nandi bull, Sai Dwar, Sai Temple, Kirat Dwar, Kirateshwar Statue, Shiv Dwar and Musical fountain.
The temple is built on top of the Solophok Hill in South Sikkim which is about 5 kilometers from Namchi. One can enjoy cultural activities, seminars, religious discourses, nature study and passive recreation in the pilgrimage center. Apart from providing a unique religious and cultural ambience, the temple is a major tourist attraction at the National as well as International level.
Day 3: Transfer to Buddha Park Ravangla
To promote Sikkim as a pilgrimage destination, the state government decided to make a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha in Buddha Park. People from India and across the world come and here and seek the blessing of Lord Budha. The park offers a panoramic view of snow capped mountains, and an ample walkway for visitors to enjoy the serene surroundings, spiritual ambience of the location adds to the experience. There is a meditation center within the park, and additional infrastructures for Buddhist conclave.
Day 4: Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple
Located on the bank of the Rangit River, Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple is a must visit religious sight for every tourist on their tour to Legship, West Sikkim. The temple is located at a distance of 5 km from Pelling and is connected with Geyzing and Pemayangtse. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has lots of tales connected to the Hindu epic, Mahabharata. According to legends, this is the place where Lord Shiva appeared in front of Arjuna in the disguise of a hunter and blessed him to attain success in the war of Mahabharata. Currently, there is a guest house within the premises of the temple, and it can accommodate more than 500 people. The temple is at its liveliest during the months of November and December as the famous festival Bala Chaturdesi is celebrated during this time.
Day 5: Guru Padmasambhava Statue, Samdruptse Hill (Transfer to Gangtok)
In Bhutia language Samdruptse means ‘wish fulfilling hill’. This is place where tourist can admire the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava. This wide gigantic statue of Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rimpoche, is known to have blessed Sikkim more than 1,200 years ago, and is considered as a tribute to the saint. Within the complex, there’s a permanent photo exhibition of archival images from India’s history, including a rare photo of Mahatma Gandhi. The statue of Guru Padmasambhava is visually stunning and therefore is a must visit attraction for any tourists visiting the area.
Day 6: Gangtok Local Sightseeing:
Early Morning starts the full day sightseeing in and around this capital city of Sikkim, covering Ganesh Tak, Hanuman Tak, Chortan (Stupa), Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday), Roomtek Monastery & Dharma Chakra Centre– one of the 4 major Tibetan Buddhist Sect.
Day 7: Gangtok- Railway Station / Airport
After breakfast at hotel transfer to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. As you go home let the everlasting memory of the radiant Himalayas and this beautiful serene place linger in your mind and prompt you now and again to revisit this place.
